I had a teacher tell me the other day he considered factory work over teaching It wasn’t pay. It wasn’t politics. It’s that when a student was throwing books in his class, all his admin could do was ask “well, what are you doing to build a relationship?”

Went to the local SASA makeup store to find some fancy colorful eyeliner (fail!) but found a whole aisle of color masks! Each pack comes with a variety of nice muted colors. I don’t know anything about the MEDEIS brand though. They have FFP2 and ASTM Level 3

@nerdsrule007 @1goodtern Wearing a mask helps in the classroom environment to avoid sickness, however, does nothing from preventing you getting sick when members of your family choose not to mask 🤦‍♀️😞

@1goodtern WHY are people so in love with getting sick?🙄 As an elementary teacher I was always sick from working up-close with cute (& germy) children. Often parents sent them to us sick as dogs. What did I gain from that? NOTHING. Just always SICK. Wish 😷ing was a thing then. 😔

I am trying to make a flying UFO for my lessons next week. I used a rope to move the UFO and conductive tape to detect when the motor should stop. I've also tried some other ideas, but these projects became too complicated for a 90 minute workshop. I'm hoping this one is doable.

@RayBoyd007 @rachaellehr @DaytonPS @DrLSHammond /2 students are looking confused- you need to drill down to figure out what they have missed in previous years and change your lesson then and there (which in the long term with DRs and interleaved practice you would hope becomes less frequent).

We often get questioned about how we differentiate in our daily reviews & explicit lessons @DaytonPS & it was such a joy to see this in action in our Pre-primary class. Our amazing teacher was ensuring EVERY child had work at their level while learning the same concept.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@RayBoyd007 @rachaellehr @DaytonPS Thanks for the information Ray, this is what I anticipated in the DRs, that questions are based on content taught previously so less cognitive load on the process as students know what to expect. Can questions be based on learning content from the previous year?

@hausofhemlock Limestone wall and grown under pavers towards the house. We paid for stump grinders to come in and one is dead but the rest keep having saplings pop up. I've started digging up pavement to get rid of shoots but there are two more trees so more roots. Is there a better way?

@hausofhemlock So sorry to hear you are feeling down and I hope you are feeling much brighter soon! Do you know much about killing off ornamental pear trees? We did not plant them, they were here when we moved in... They are beautiful but have become so large they've destroyed our garden bed...

As 2024 comes to a close, I am suddenly feeling really depressed so if anyone wants to ask plant or gardening questions to help me feel less hopeless and discarded, that would be excellent.
