Rigathi Gachagua claims teachers, in the new medical cover, are limited to KSh 1,200 daily. That is misleading. The reality is that the Mwalimu Cover under this administration is one of the most comprehensive health schemes in the public sector. Teachers now enjoy inpatient cover ranging from KSh 1 million to KSh 3 million, outpatient cover of up to KSh 450,000 and access to over 6,000 health facilities nationwide; services easily accessible through the Afyangu app. What has changed is not the benefit, but the discipline in how public funds are used.

@_shakenya teachers are now told that their outpatient medical services are capped at 2500🤔 and any figure above that is paid from their pocket. Teachers were promised comprehensive medical cover what happened?

On paper @_shakenya TSC covers from 120K to 300K for maternity across diff job groups. However in the hospitals SHA only covers 30K for Cs and 10K for normal delivery. Any figures above those are paid in cash by teachers. So, how is this comprehensive covers?

Ahead of 2027. 1. Over 40k intern teachers still serving illegally with minimum wages of 17K 2. Inadequate teachers and carriculum resources to handle Grade 10 3. Unclear transition procedure which left many Grade 9 learners unable to join Grade 10. 🤔

It is now alleged that KEWOTA in collusion with TSC, KRA has been forcing mandatory deduction of 200ksh from payslips of over 150K female teachers every month. This money then benefits a few individuals including Benta Opande and her cronies. Let the teachers be COMPENSATED.

KUPPET and KNUT should seriously engage TSC over the issue of health insurance. SHA has lately refused to cover teachers comprehensively leaving teachers to pay their own bills. Teachers are detained over health bills yet they are civil servants. SHA is NOT working.
