I got the rejection email today. I didn't have any luck with the Australian Geographic photo comp this year. No need for sympathy. I'm used to it. It's very competitive. Here's one of my unsuccessful entries. A yellow-tailed rock wallaby at Boolcoomatta Reserve.

@BasedRedhead @wwxwashere Beyond that you can drop the tags altogether once you’ve identified the speakers so there isn’t tag overload in the mind. If nobody chided, roared, grumbled, laughed, snickered, mused, mumbled, seethed, whispered, chortled or whined while speaking then leave it simply dialogue.

@BasedRedhead @wwxwashere That’s for teaching children to be creative. When writing books as an adult you want the dialogue to stand front and center and says/said is fine to determine who’s talking. Use the other verbs when necessary. Sometimes people are just talking and not moving.

@AldrachiReaver It sucks so much :( Sometimes we just have to deal and swap it to a pickup so we can go in and buy the “unavailable” items ourselves separately 😵‍💫 The delivery option saves us both time and it’s nice having everything arrived and put away before husband gets home

@Teakaachu I used to manage that department and I promise you it’s because the employees are being lazy. I wrote a lady up for doing that once. It happens more with produce because it’s the only place where it doesn’t spell out to them the exact spot on the shelf.

Update on my cat bc the situation got weird. He was planned to be put to sleep bc the vets told us his kidney disease was end stage. Last second the vet suggested they could take bloods and look further, we accepted. HE JUST HAS A STOMACH INFECTION. THESE IRRESPONSIBLE VETS-

TL;DR since this is blowing up. he pretty much didn't believe my symptoms and acted as i was exaggerating them because of my anxiety. and the more i insisted it wasn't normal, the more he acted like i was a confused little girl. i ended up cutting him short and left

update on this: i went because i had headaches and a runny nose. he chalked it up to anxiety. turns out they had left a piece of my wisdom tooth when i got it removed and it moved all the way up to my cheekbones and has been creating pressure in my sinuses.
