One thing that has always bugged me about my own congregation. I take personal responsibility for this, as the rabbi/pastor. Sometimes, people stop coming to the congregation through no fault of their own. Sometimes, they have a chronic sickness. Or they lost availability to transportation. Or their work hours changed. They still desire the fellowship of believers. And would greatly appreciate being kept in touch with. But, over time, our faith family forgets about them. Perhaps a few reach-outs early on. "Hey, we haven't seen you? Are you ok?" But after a while, communication ceases, the congregation moves on without them, and often they are left feeling forgotten and invisible. I don't know what to do about this, or even if I should do something about it. Visitation ministries and phone ministries are ok, but the touchpoints are infrequent and don't seem to fill the need, in my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the responsibility is mutual. Maybe even these people need to make an effort to join our virtual gatherings, which are many, and take some ownership of maintaining community on their own. I don't know. I'm a rabbi second. I'm a pastor first. And it bothers me when this happens, and I don't know how to fix it.

Colossians 4:5: Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Why does Paul reference wisdom in relation to the use of our time? Because he is quoting a Psalm, attributed to Moses. Psalm 90:12: So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. It is literally uncanny how much the Old Testament is quoted in the New.

Mark 13:20: And unless Adonai had cut short those days, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He cut short the days. Whether you think this is about 70AD or the tribulation, it is clear that God cut the time of trial short so a remnant of the Jewish people will be preserved.

During the tribulation, the dragon will go after: 1. Jews 2. Christians who truly follow the word of God And #2 includes believing in God's promises for Israel.
