🚨new paper!!
arxiv.org/abs/2208.00024
Please enjoy this preprint where I attempt to return to my quantum roots and discuss with Anja Metelmann and @TeamHatLab how to make an ideal quantum parametric amplifier. 📢

Check out our new joint publication with the Jones Group at Pitt exploring co-design for NISQ processors. We look at which (modestly large) architectures are both (a) buildable using our parametric gates and (b) good at NISQ algorithms.

@StevenTouzard @Liv_Lanes Angela is gossiping w Alex Grimm out of frame. And it's a Magrette watch my wife bought me for our 15th anniversary.

@Liv_Lanes @TeamHatLab I miss him. Is Angela desperately trying to not get involved ? (Also is Mike rocking a Panerai ??)

Turns out arguing with your advisor post PhD looks a lot like arguing with your advisor mid-PhD @TeamHatLab

Check out our new paper in Nature Comm starring Chenxu Liu and David Pekker on using superconducting circuits to build masers which are far narrower than the standard quantum limit. Started as a great coffee conversation now cool physics :). nature.com/articles/s4146…

Super excited that our new preprint on modular quantum computing with a quantum state router is out now. Represents tons of hard work by Chao Zhou and Pinlei Lu. arxiv.org/pdf/2109.06848…

@KrayzmanLev Looks like TX viewed from below so maybe it's 'like a whole 'nother country'.....

@Liv_Lanes @TeamHatLab Superconducting circuit people should play a game of "guess the device," with the image. At the bottom, I think I recognize a JPC with two half-wave resonators forming the X and Y modes.

@Liv_Lanes We need one more axis. Like squirrel. So |QM> = |squirrel > + imaginary |squirrel >. Not quite perfect though cause although squirrel orthogonal to QM not orthogonal to funny ;)

There’s a 50/50 chance I have a quantum joke.

I have a computing joke, but it's a bit hard to process.
