After what we went through last season with Martial and Lamela, I think people were a bit scared when we signed Jovic this summer, including myself, I won’t lie. What we did not consider, was that this past Summer Ribalta and Nikolic weee bringing the players. They would not bring in a player like this that they did not believe in 100% Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t think we fully understand and appreciate the player we have on our team. It’s not only his top tier talent or his amazing quality, it’s his passion and drive. His leadership on the pitch. This kid has played for literally the biggest clubs in world football, but he came to Greece and plays every match like he is a teenager trying to get his big chance. You see it when he scores how he celebrates. You see how he celebrates when his teammates score. The guy is invested in AEK. I am waiting like everyone else of course for the day that he helps AEK lift trophies. But regarding the position of the striker, in my 27 years as an AEK fan, I have not seen someone better at the team. I love Ponce. I love Garcia. I love Blanco. I was a baby when Demis was playing so I didn’t live him either. I love and respect those guys with all my heart. But in my eyes ladies and gentlemen, Luka Jovic is the best I have seen play at AEK. You guys know me a while now. You know I don’t jump to conclusions. Negative one or positive ones. But I have to say this. It’s not only his goals. Goals are the most important. Will we ever forget the 7 goals against Pao? I don’t think so. But it’s his style of play. He drips quality. Even when he doesn’t score. Some of his best matches at AEK he didn’t score. Like in Samsun, Celje, and Touba. The way the ball sticks to him. The way he distributes. The way he makes runs and his hard to take down. All of this, in a season where he didn’t have any summer training with the club and AEK is going through a rebuild. Imagine next season where he will have pre season and everything will be even more stable. Luka Jovic you boss. Keep scoring. Keep balling.
