Congrats to Dr. Lonnie Johnson, the genius behind the Super Soaker, on winning his lawsuit against Hasbro! Beyond transforming water blasters, he made major contributions at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab. His legacy in innovation and space exploration is truly inspiring!

Vivien Thomas was an American laboratory supervisor who, in the 1940s, played a major role in developing a procedure now called the Blalock–Thomas–Taussig shunt used to treat blue baby syndrome (now cyanotic heart disease) along with surgeon Alfred Blalock and Helen B. Taussig.

Mary Eliza Mahoney pursued a nursing career that supported these aims. She is noted for becoming the first African American licensed nurse.
