A Welfare Board Inspection was conducted at CWS Tadali on 18th July, 2026 under the direction of Shri Bikram Ghosh, Director (HR) in guidance of Shri L. P. Tirkey, GM (Welfare) and Shri S. P. Tiwari, GM (Civil–Welfare). The Board members included Shri Brijesh Singh, Shri Shrikant Choudhary, Shri Kameshwar Rai, and Dr. Y. V. Ramana. The inspection was attended by Shri Swapan Das, General Manager, CWS Tadali, along with Shri Birendra Majhi, GM (Works Manager) and other officials. During the inspection, the team reviewed various welfare initiatives and employee-centric measures implemented at CWS Tadali for the well-being of employees and their families. The visiting Board appreciated the efforts made by the management in maintaining welfare facilities and promoting a safe, healthy, and employee-friendly work environment. After their remarkable success at the Inter Company Badminton Tournament organized by BCCL, Dhanbad, the WCL Women's Badminton Team called on Director (Finance & HR), WCL, Shri Bikram Ghosh, at WCL Headquarters, Nagpur and presented the trophy won during the championship. Congratulating the players on their outstanding achievements, Shri Bikram Ghosh commended their dedication, discipline and sporting excellence, stating that their accomplishments have brought immense pride to WCL and serve as an inspiration for aspiring sportspersons across the organization. The WCL Women's Badminton Team emerged as Champions in the Women's Team Championship, with Ms. Tejwani There (Ballarpur Area) winning the Women's Singles Championship. The duo of Ms. Tejwani There (Ballarpur Area) and Ms. Ashwini Dongre (Nagpur Area) clinched the Women's Doubles Championship, while Ms. Rashmi Khare secured the Runner-up position in the Women's Doubles event. Continuing their impressive form, these accomplished players were selected to represent the Coal India Limited (CIL) Women's Badminton Team at the Public Sector Badminton Tournament held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where the team secured an impressive Third Position, bringing further laurels to both CIL and WCL. A comprehensive review meeting was held on 16 July 2026 at WCL Headquarters under the chairmanship of Shri Bikram Ghosh, Director (HR/Finance), WCL, along with Dr. Shashi Shankar, CMS I/c, WCL, to strengthen healthcare delivery and streamline administrative processes for WCL beneficiaries. The meeting witnessed participation from 58 representatives of 42 CIL-empanelled hospitals, reflecting a shared commitment to providing efficient, transparent and patient-centric healthcare services. Key decisions included standardizing regular consultations at WCL Area Hospitals, ensuring seamless operations of the SWASTH Portal, and strict adherence to compliance guidelines for retired beneficiaries. Hospitals agreed to follow proper billing procedures, provide effective patient counseling, ensure the availability of WCL-designated beds and establish dedicated help desks with clearly displayed contact details for WCL patients. Emphasis was also laid on avoiding unjustified ICU admissions and prolonged hospital stays while ensuring quality medical care. Additionally, all participating hospitals agreed that implants and chemotherapy drugs will be supplied by WCL through AMRIT Pharmacy, ensuring timely availability of critical medical supplies. Shri Bikram Ghosh, Director (Finance & HR), WCL and Custodian of Mine Closure for Rakhikole UG, Bansi UG, Sukri UG, Chikalmau UG, Nandora UG, Datla East UG, Datla West UG, and Rawanwara Khas UG, visited the mine closure sites to review the progress of ongoing final mine closure activities. During the visit, he inspected the works being undertaken, reviewed the status of implementation and directed the concerned teams to ensure timely completion of all activities within the stipulated timelines. As part of the Final Mine Closure initiatives, Shri Ghosh also visited a medical camp organized for the local community. He interacted with the teachers and students of Rakhikole School and engaged with members of the local community to understand their aspirations while highlighting WCL's commitment to responsible mine closure, sustainable development and community welfare.
