@an7body yeah i 100% understand the statement doesn’t come from a bad place, it was just something i was thinking about but maybe i was thinking too deeply about it
English

people say that about all of their loved ones who died too early or who were also killed. i don't think they fictionalize the person but it's just expressing their feelings and grief towards the injustice of it all. i think they can simultaneously believe and acknowledge both things your statement isn't invalid but just my take
English

while i do agree it's also true, from ppls perspective, that bad ppl seem to live longer for some reason "only the good die young" ( in the context of michael , ESPECIALLY literally everyone who wronged him) so i get the sentiment of that when ppl say that, its capturing the emotion behind the unfairness of it all but it does miss the nuance of everything else. i think you're responding to the literal interpretation of the phrase rather than just taking it as them saying "he deserved better" or just lamenting the fact that the loss feels especially cruel when it happens to someone they admire or love
