𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬: 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞? For a considerable period, I have been concerned about the frequency with which events in Lesotho are scheduled during weekdays, despite targeting a broad audience that includes both employed and unemployed individuals. While it is understandable to host such engagements during the week when the primary audience is unemployed, it raises important questions when students and working professionals are also part of the intended participants. Scheduling workshops, trainings, information sessions and motivational talks during standard working hours excludes a significant portion of the audience, limiting both participation and overall impact. This practice prompts us to reflect on how inclusive and accessible these initiatives truly are. If the goal is to reach a diverse audience, then timing becomes a critical factor that cannot be overlooked. Notably, weekend empowerment events, whether workshops, trainings, or motivational sessions, remain relatively rare in Lesotho. This presents an opportunity for organisations and organisers to rethink their approach and adopt more inclusive scheduling strategies that accommodate a wider range of participants. #Lesotho #EventPlanning #Workshops #ProfessionalDevelopment #YouthEmpowerment #InclusiveGrowth #PublicEngagement #SkillsDevelopment #Basotho #Leadership #Motivation #CapacityBuilding #SocialImpact
