@TebohoMotaung @PhakelaMthakath Exactly where do you expect poor SAcans to buy from when they only have 1 or 2 spazas that are foreign owned? You expect poor unemployed SAcans not to rent their spaces for probably the only income they can have? We all that foreigners prey on hungry, poor women. What you are..

Major Law Firms Challenge B-BBEE Legal Sector Code in Gauteng High Court South Africa's leading law firms, including Deneys Reitz (formerly Norton Rose Fulbright), Bowmans, Webber Wentzel, and Werksmans, are before the Gauteng High Court this week challenging the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Legal Sector Code. The firms argue that the code, gazetted by Trade and Industry Minister Parks Tau in September 2024, is unlawful, unconstitutional, and impractical. Key objections include strict targets such as 50% black ownership within five years, 25% black representation in management, and specific briefing quotas for black advocates. Applicants contend these timelines do not align with how law firms operate, as equity is typically held by practising partners who require years of qualification and experience. They warn that rigid implementation could damage firms' B-BBEE ratings and access to government work, ultimately undermining broad-based transformation. Government respondents and the Legal Practice Council maintain the code is necessary to address persistent structural inequalities in the legal profession more than three decades after apartheid. The matter, formally Norton Rose & Others v Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition (Case No: 2024-149523), is being heard by a full bench of three judges. Proceedings are set to run for five days until Friday. The outcome could have significant implications for B-BBEE policy across other professional sectors. Public debate remains sharply divided, with critics viewing the challenge as resistance to meaningful change and supporters arguing the code's targets risk being counterproductive.

Home Affairs Deputy Minister Admits No One Knows Exact Number of Undocumented Migrants in South Africa, Urges Organizations to work with them in Identifying Illegal Foreigners Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Njabulo Nzuza has admitted that no one knows the exact number of undocumented migrants in South Africa. He made the remarks during an appearance on SABC News’ programme It’s Topical, where illegal migration, border control, and enforcement challenges were discussed. Nzuza said the issue dates back to 1994 when South Africa’s immigration laws were crafted with a focus on openness. He explained that policymakers at the time did not fully anticipate challenges such as illegal movement of people, goods, and human trafficking, resulting in systems that favoured easier movement. He added that South Africa has become a key destination for migrants due to its relatively stronger economy in Africa. According to Nzuza, the country’s economic position continues to attract people from across the continent, placing ongoing pressure on border systems and immigration control efforts. Nzuza pointed to steps taken by the current administration, including the introduction of the Border Management Authority, to strengthen border security. He said increased investment is being directed toward the security cluster, emphasising that economic growth depends on maintaining safety and protecting the country’s sovereignty. Responding to a question from host Blaine Herman, Nzuza said undocumented migrants cannot be precisely counted because they do not pass through formal border systems. He noted that authorities rely on estimates and information from communities and civic organisations to identify areas experiencing influxes of undocumented individuals. He urged communities and organisations to work with government in identifying illegal foreigners. Nzuza said inspection units continue to conduct operations to locate and deport those in the country unlawfully, but added that more resources and investment are needed to effectively manage illegal migration.

Mind you this is R 90 - R190 BILLION when using legitimate products and paying taxes, so imagine how much South Africa is losing with these so called Spaza shops run by these criminals?? Spaza shops must ONLY be reserved for South Africans, let them go back to open Spaza shops in their damn countries‼️

That 45 years old anti-SA barbaric president of a small party wants illegal foreigners here so that he can underpay them through his tender contracts. He wants to keep the borders open and porous so that he can facilitate human trafficking and illicit drugs trafficking. 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
