Tech Hoops scored more points per possession in ames than anyone since 2021 -- it's also the most points/poss that an otzelberger-coached team's allowed since Jan '17 apparently, toppin didnt play and anderson was in dire foul trouble the middle half of the game every coaching award in the country should be going to mccasland & linder, someone should probably hire chris nottingham, buffington gm of the year, etc.

scoring is way up in college hoops. but even accounting for that increase, we can see the mccasland + jeff linder effect. linder's got to be the best offensive coordinator in all of ball over the last two seasons. he also has a permanent scowl on his face. i respect that.

I like watching Lee Hunter play football. He's a 350-pound ballerina. But it's his post-play antics that are hilarious. You can't predict whether he's going to bonk a fallen opposing QB on the head or help him to his feet (i think it depends on where the refs are looking). He'll carry a hurt teammate off the field and place him on the training table, but only after organizing a tik-tok-dance, post-turnover celebration with his teammates.

One thing I didn't predict in this post-apocalyptic, pay-for-play CFB world: A successful HC and his school's Athletic Department could (should?) want that very HC shopping himself to high-profile jobs, even leaking information that the HC is very likely to leave, with max effect if this can play out during a playoff run. Previously, this was a nightmare scenario for your high school recruiting efforts with early signing day being a much bigger deal. Now, it's the ultimate leverage move to pull as much as possible from your donor base for future talent acquisition. The ability to pay for amazing WRs, edge rushers, cover guys, QBs, athletic tackles, etc., is the only thing that matters.
