@BRICSinfo Trump: It’s great to be back in beautiful Davos, Switzerland, addressing respected business leaders many friends, and a few enemies 😂

This is a common misconception. EU leads the way in lots of niche tech segments, mostly involved in manufacturing. These are sad times overall as policies are trying to kill them, but thankfully, they are still alive. I am talking about ASML, ST microelectronucs, Dassault Systems, and many many small, but still crucial ones to the economy.

True humanoid companions are coming fast.
Emily is the latest life-size AI sex robot, ready for intimacy and equipped with conversational intelligence.
She features a silicone exterior, posable internal skeleton, facial movement, and stands 5 ft 3 in tall- all powered by AI.
She is made from Lovense, a Singapore-based sex tech company, with a cost between $4k and $8k, with the first shipment expected in 2027.
This is just the beginning and could change human relationships forever.
It may as well be the last nail in the coffin for many countries, which are already recording their lowest birth rates.

China is gaining ground in the AI race.
In a high-security laboratory in Shenzhen, Chinese scientists have developed a prototype of an EUV machine, thanks to a team of former engineers from ASML who reverse-engineered the company's extreme ultraviolet lithography machines.
EUV machines sit at the heart of the AI Cold War. They use beams of extreme ultraviolet light to etch circuits thousands of times thinner than a human hair- the smaller the circuits, the more powerful the chips.
China's machine is already operational and generating extreme ultraviolet light.
At the moment, it has not yet produced working chips, but that may happen one day, probably by 2028- much earlier than most analysts would have expected just a few months ago.

@marclou Fully agree; I am surprised you lasted 6 years- which I think it is the first and foremost reason you are leaving.
English

Why I'm leaving Bali after 6 years:
- Far from everything
- Not cheap anymore
- Air is polluted
- Food chain is polluted
- Ocean is polluted
- Not walkable
- Too hot all year
- Wife gets catcalled often
I want mild weather, walkable areas, organic shops, clean air, tax-friendly, and young vibes.
It's a utopia, of course, but I'll choose the place that ticks the most boxes.

@MichaelAArouet No party wants to face reality because it will hurt their electoral base, but the pension system will soon be unsustainable. It already is. The only solution being sold is to prolong as much as possible the age at which you can retire.

The dependence on semiconductors will only get stronger and stronger. This is just the beginning, and ASML is at the forefront of what is currently possible.
ASML@ASMLcompany
Billions of transistors with features just nanometers wide power today’s most advanced devices – and our extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography tech makes these nanoscale features a reality.

@LeverageETFs The odds that they are all wrong are overwhelming. In April, S&P was predicted to be around 5500 in December...

@itsme_urstruly Most of your cells do change during your lifetime. That's one precious opportunity to change for the better.

@blakeaburge It is easier for your surroundings to shape you than the other way around.
