It’s the end of an era! 👋 “Once upon a time, there was an IT Director who lived in a cupboard, which he affectionately labelled #CupboardHQ!” ❤️ They say all good fairy tales must come to an end. Today, my journey as the IT Director at Newham Community Learning comes to a close after 11 years, following a recent restructure. I’m immensely proud of everything we’ve achieved. From becoming one of the first trusts in the country to go fully cloud with our data back in 2017, to building a robust digital strategy across a growing trust, championing digital innovation, leading on cyber security, and navigating a global pandemic. It’s been a rollercoaster ride I’ll never forget. I wish the trust all the very best for the future. 🙌 Most importantly, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most passionate, dedicated, and inspiring colleagues, leaders, and educators from across the world. Without your guidance and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today or had the chance to present globally and kick off #AbidsWorldTour! Thank you for your trust, collaboration, and encouragement over the years. I’m truly grateful. 🥰 As this chapter closes and the immediate future feels a little uncertain, I’m open to new opportunities and excited for what’s next. I’ll continue waving the EdTech flag, advocating for sustainable digital transformation, cyber security in education, and helping others navigate the ever-evolving world of tech, strategy, and innovation. I’ve been a little quiet on here to be fair. However, I’m super pleased to announce that I have signed a publishing contract with @codebreakeredu for my The Ideas Guy book. It’s written and proofread my end - design almost done too - so now it’s the official editing and proofreading before we hopefully get it out before the summer! Eek this is getting real 😬
