Lionel Messi is a great player, no doubt, nobody is denying that. But when FIFA declares him the 'GOAT of football,' a lot of questions need to be asked. And honestly, that doesn't even bother me that much. It's their opinion. We are all humans. We watch football with our own eyes. We see what happens on the pitch. And if the majority of people still choose Cristiano Ronaldo, it's not by accident. People don't praise what doesn't deserve praise. Ronaldo earned every bit of it. Now let's really think about it for a second. Is Messi actually the GOAT? Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest of all time. That one is not debatable. In the World Cup, the GOAT is Pelé; three World Cups, scored in two finals, undisputed. In the Club World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo; again, most goals in the competition. Messi doesn't even have more goals than Bale or Benzema there. In the Euros, Ronaldo is also the GOAT; top scorer, most appearances, most impact. So surely you might think Messi must be the GOAT of the Copa America, right? But let's check the facts. He hasn't won nearly as many titles as other legends. Despite playing the most matches in the tournament's history, he isn't even among the top scorers. And here's the shocking part: in five Copa América finals, Messi has never scored or assisted a single goal. Every time, it's always Di Maria who stepped up. Okay, you might say Messi is the GOAT of La Liga. Fair enough, but that's one league, one division. Football is global. And when Messi left that comfort zone, what happened? In France, six league goals in his first season, he struggled to adapt. Now compare that to Cristiano Ronaldo, who has played in Italy, international football, different leagues, different systems, different defenders, same dominance outcome. So tell me, how can someone be called the GOAT when he's not clearly the greatest in any major type of competition he's played in? This isn't hate, this is football reality.
