Throughout the year, I work with my students on supporting their claims and opinions with textual evidence. It's a writing standard. If adults are going to make claims about someone's character or intentions, then they should be based on facts. That should be a moral standard.

I have been criticized for trying to help people work together. "You have to do what is best for the school." I don't know how success is worthwhile, let alone possible, without collaboration and inclusion. What we expect of our students is what we should expect of ourselves.
