DHURANDHAR 2 - What i think abt it. (Spoiler free)
Positives - IT IS A RANVEER SINGH SHOW ALL THE WAY
Ranveer Baba, who was incredibly restrained in the first part, finally comes into his own in the sequel. His journey from Jaskirat to Hamza is interesting to observe. He sheds his old skin, adopts a new name and identity, and buries his past forever. Baba channels his famous Khilji energy as he slowly becomes Karachi ka badshaah:one man against his many foes.
CASTING IS ONCE AGAIN FIRE
Mukesh Chhabra does it again. From Aqib Ali Zarwari to Nawaz Sharif to Atif Ahmed immaculate casting.
DHAR & HIS WORLD BUILDING
Dhar’s craft is on full display (again). Building a gritty, realistic & a lived-in world.
Negatives:
I am largely A-political but i get it when people say Dhar comes off as government’s mouthpiece. The ‘Chaiwala’ reference is used far too many times IMO. Clipping of Modi’s oath taking ceremony. I mean you get it right? Right??;)
Women are missing. I mean literally missing from the movie except few core notes for Yalina.
REHMAN DACAIT WAS MISSED & HOW!
All in all it is a solid, absolutely solid sequel. No doubt about it. A perfect REVENGE Saga that is violent, gory & visceral.
DHURANDHAR Part 1 with a runtime of 3hrs34mins left me wanting for more.
DHURANDHAR Part 2 with a runtime of 3hrs49mins tested my patience towards the end & felt like a drag.
8/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There is a .. HEY I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING’ twist in the end. Absolutely stunning.
Crowd in the theatre clapped, whistled, laughed & cheered on multiple occasions. A Director’s dream.
DHURANDHAR WILL BE THAT CULT MOVIE IN EVERYONE’S TOP 10 FOR THIS GENERATION.🫡🙌🏻
