I get the point you’re trying to make, and you’re not entirely wrong about the shift happening. Tools like AI editors, structured docs, and better workflows are lowering the barrier to building, and that’s a good thing. It means more people can turn ideas into real products without waiting on large teams.
But saying developers can be made irrelevant is where the argument loses balance.
There’s a difference between building something that works and building something that lasts. A lot of what makes software valuable isn’t just the UI or the first version it’s everything underneath: architecture, scalability, performance, security, and the ability to handle real-world complexity when things stop being ideal.
AI can help write code, suggest patterns, and speed up development. But it still relies heavily on the person using it to make the right decisions. Without that depth, you end up with fragile systems that break under pressure.
Also, there are many developers who already understand design and UI/UX deeply even if they don’t always label themselves as designers. They collaborate, adapt, and build with design in mind, without trying to make designers irrelevant. That same mutual respect should go both ways.
What’s actually happening isn’t designers replacing developers it’s the rise of builders who can think across both design and engineering. The people who win will be the ones who understand product, user experience, and technical systems, not just one side of it.
So yes, the gap is shrinking. But expertise isn’t disappearing it’s becoming more important, not less.
Don't be dumb , be an example, think with perspective, and respectfully not everything has to be turned into a competition
End.

Who brought developers into this conversation? The disrespect is wild. An average designer with the right Codex, Claude, or Cursor setup, .md file, plus a CLI and MCP server, can literally make some of you irrelevant. Let that sink in.

My PC just crashed. But I’m not even stressed. I’ll fix it tomorrow, I just boot into some random snapshot I saved like nothing ever happened.
