What does (b) stand for? Nothing. It's simply a continuation of our naming system. Numbers represent generations, while letters indicate different product segments. The A Series has been our best-selling smartphone line, bringing the best of Nothing's design innovation while focusing on the features that matter most. The B Series builds on the success of the A Series by expanding into a new segment, while maintaining a clear product hierarchy. The A Series remains our most premium line below our flagship products, which doesn't carry a letter designation. This avoids overusing suffixes and provides a clearer naming structure as the portfolio expands. Hope this is clear✌️

A lot of you have been asking when the next CMF phone is coming and as always we'd rather be transparent. CMF Phone 2 Pro was a product we were incredibly proud of. It even won Budget Phone of the Year from MKBHD and the response from all of you made it even more special. We were working on a successor but with memory prices where they are right now, we can't build a phone that feels like a genuine step forward at a price that makes sense for CMF. As a result, we've decided not to launch a new CMF phone this year. We'd rather be upfront about that than ship something we're not proud of. That said, there's still a lot to look forward to from @cmfbynothing for this year. We have several new products launching as well as some entirely new categories. More on that soon! Oh and the smartphone launch season at Nothing isn't over yet. More to come. Soon. 😏 Stay tuned ✌️

One thing that really stuck with me from Satya Nadella’s latest article The biggest AI moat won’t be the model. It’ll be the organization that learns the fastest. As AI becomes more accessible, the real advantage won’t come from using the same tools as everyone else. It’ll come from how well a company captures its knowledge, workflows, and decisions and turns them into systems that keep getting better. Basically the winners will build the best learning loops. The way to go is to not just use AI but make sure that your organization is learning from it. Otherwise, you’re helping improve someone else’s model more than you’re improving your own business.

The best time to buy a smartphone was yesterday. The next best time is now. The smartphone market has changed, and sadly, it won’t improve anytime soon.

Memory is now the most expensive component in a smartphone. It's more expensive than the processor, more expensive than the display, and can account for more than 50% of the total hardware bill. For Phone (4a), memory costs doubled between when we decided to build the device and when it launched. They've doubled again since. I posted about this earlier this year. It's now playing out, faster than predicted. Phone prices are going up, and they'll keep going up into next year. Since February, new phones have been launching up to $100 more expensive than their predecessors. In India, phones above ₹30K have seen price jumps of ₹7,000 or more. The natural instinct is to buy ahead. It doesn't work that way. In a shortage, memory is allocated, not bought. You get what you're given, at the current price. If you've been waiting to upgrade a device, the best time was yesterday. The next best time is now. This year's sale season won't have the discounts people are used to.
