To accomplish this, I spent a couple hours building a tool that exports all relevant dice data to CSV! Now I can run some calculations and condense all this data into an "effectiveness value" for each unit! It isn't the *cool* side of game dev, but it is immensely valuable!

Today, I decided I to conduct a much deeper dive on my games balance. Until now, I've been balancing based on vibes and what would be cool. Going forward, I wanted a more scientific approach to determining a unit value. 1/2 #GameDev #IndieDev #Godot

@TierZoo I agree, I hold to the opinion that XP farms in Minecraft, while impressive, show just how badly designed the enchantment system is. It looks like you are supposed to get XP by adventuring and doing cool stuff, but in reality the best way is grinding.

to this day, the ONLY devs to recognize this and act accordingly are the fortnite devs. Adding "No-Build" mode saved fortnite. Game would've died years ago if people were still forced to fight against opponents who would spawn a castle on their head the instant a shot was fired.
