Today marks an important step forward for the justice system. The High Judicial Council, the High Prosecutorial Council, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the High Justice Inspector, and the School of Magistrates, under the coordination of the Ministry of Justice, signed the first agreement to harmonise practices for collecting, reporting, and using judicial statistical data. This marks a concrete step towards stronger interinstitutional cooperation and more reliable, unified data practices, aligned with EU standards and best practices. 1/2

EU 🇪🇺-Albania 🇦🇱 Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security met in Tirana. Good discussion on the progress in the area of rule of law, following the opening of accession negotiations on Fundamentals. Rule of law reforms need to continue and intensify. During the talk, we discussed the direct impact of the rule of law and the fight against corruption on the process of accession to the European Union.🇪🇺

Grateful for the opportunity to have a conversation with the students of @epokauniversity as part of the “Integrity Week” in an open lecture on the concept of “integrity” in its broad sense, as an institutional and personal necessity to put the common good at the center. ⚖️

Of special fascination were discussions on how to implement Artificial Intelligence in facilitating the EU accession process.

Also had the chance to partake in sharing of experiences in designing Negotiation Positions and developing and Implementing the Growth Plan for EU Integration.

Interesting discussions in the Chief Negotiators Forum, were we deliberated on strategic frameworks for reform in fundamentals of Rule of Law, Democratic Institutions and PAR, development and review of the National Plan for Approximation, its impact assessment and its costing.

It was an honor to participate in the European Anti-SLAPP Conference 2024, and present in the panel on the National Dimension: Key Steps towards the Implementation of SLAPP Standards, on Albania’s efforts for the promotion and protection of freedom of expression and the media.

During the conversation with lecturers, students and representatives from the journalists’ network, we touched a number of issues on matters of media freedom, pluralism and self-regulation, as well as ways to address them in accordance with our country European perspective.

In the framework of the public dialogue on the EU integration process, I had the opportunity to talk at the UET Forum on the theme "The normative regulation of the media in the context of the integration of Albania in the EU".
