At Teignmouth Primary School, our children are happy, safe and love learning. Watch a day in the life of our reception children; the enjoyment that our children show everyday and all the fantastic things that they get up to when at school. Just look at those smiley faces!

WE ARE TEIGNMOUTH WEEK For their community event last week, Hazel Class went down to St James Church to take part in some gardening and grounds clearing. By the end of the day it was clear to see the difference of their hard work. Well done year 4!

As part of WE ARE TEIGNMOUTH WEEK, Elder class visited the library yesterday to present them with some reading-for-pleasure sculptures they had made to be displayed. Whilst there, the pupils were taken on a tour of the library, enjoyed looking at books and playing some games.

Our first 'We Are Teignmouth Week 2024' event happened today where our lovely Oak Class pupils visited Croft Lodge Care Home. They spent some time with the residents reading from their library books and even some of their own writing from their English books.

On Friday, we held our first Break the Rules Day! The children could break certain rules such as the school uniform rule, the no extreme hair styles rule or the no toys in school rule, which raised £600 for The Friends of Teignmouth Primary. Well done everyone!

Year 5&6 made poppies to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day which they laid on Commonwealth War Graves at Teignmouth Cemetery. This was particularly poignant for two of our children who placed their poppies on their great grandfather’s graves. #friendsofteignmouthcemetery

Brilliant to have an opportunity to chat with @LukeEducation22 yesterday about his new book ‘The Narzat’! He has now set up an after school Authors’ Club with over 30 pupils already signed up, including some (currently) ‘reluctant’ writers. Delighted to hear there’s a sequel too!

With there being a lot on here recently about #goldfish (@Beska @alicebeska) it felt somewhat serendipitous to arrive @TeignmouthPri this morning & find a newly installed fish tank in the reception area 😀The school’s caretaker had coordinated the whole project 👏👏👏Amazing!

Future Rugby stars! Some of our children from across key stage 1 and 2 were awarded certificates and trophies at their end of season presentation at @TeignmouthRugby Club. We love seeing what our children are involved with outside of school. A huge well done to all of you!

Every Friday throughout May, children in KS1 and Early Years are invited to release their creativity in Construction Club. We have had lots of fun so far building together, completing challenges and sharing our end designs. We wonder what we are all going to build next week?

In Year 1, we have been busy grouping and sharing objects equally! These are the first steps to learning division. They had to work together systematically to find the answers.

All aspects of children's early development is underpinned by play in our Nursery. Through play, children develop language skills, emotions, creativity, social and intellectual skills. Children can explore and challenge themselves at their own pace during our play-based learning.

Yesterday we were lucky to be visited again by two talented musicians, Alfie Pugh Music and Jade Gall. They played a variety of instruments and musical pieces for the children who were in awe throughout. It is such a magical experience to see and hear live music being performed!

Back at the start of February, our Nursery students took advantage of the clear, cold and calm weather to toast some marshmallows on the fire! The children learned responsibility around the fire and Mr Ball made sure that they were safe. We all enjoyed the delicious marshmallows!

As part of our TED day, we used oil pastels to create artwork. The children smudged and combined colours to give a sunset impression, which provided a stunning backdrop to their Anglo-Saxon boat. The children were really resilient with their artwork and produced stunning pieces!

During RE our Y1&2s were visited by Lesley from St Michael's Church in Teignmouth who came to talk to them about what it is like to be part of a Christian community. The children had interesting questions and it was a great way to finish their learning about faith communities!

Our school has been overrun with rock stars and robots in celebration of NSPCC Number Day. KS2 took part in a rock battle against other schools in @IvyEduTrust and KS1 continued working on number facts. All money raised supports NSPCC whilst celebrating the fun of learning maths!

One of our wonderful volunteers who comes and looks after our grounds sent us these beautiful photos from our wild life area. Some of our children have already noticed the changes happening around them. #SignsofSpring

This week, a team of Yr5 & 6 girls went over to @TCSExeterRoad for a football tournament. They played against 5 other teams in 8 minute games. The girls did so well working together and showing great individual skill, finishing 2nd place! Well done, you made us feel very proud!
