I actually can’t believe what I just watched. The United States is at war. We have a deranged man tweeting world ending global threats by the hour. Gas is skyrocketing, groceries are more unaffordable than ever, people are being priced out of healthcare left and right, and if this doesn’t get reined in soon, we aren’t just facing a global recession, but an actual full blown depression. And the LEADER of one of our chambers of Congress is meeting this moment by tweeting a rant about trans athletes participation in sports?!?! To be clear, my position on this is that it should be handled on a case by case basis by the individual sports leagues at the local level. Not only should this topic, which affects an infinitesimal portion of the population, have NEVER reached the highest levels of government, but to focus on it NOW? I feel immeasurable pain for the people who did NOT vote for this, yet we all collectively have to deal with the consequences of what is apparently the end stage of the politics of unbridled hate and greed. They have betrayed us.

@Acyn I have to say, that is the most impressive word salad I have ever seen from a Republican politician. It still does not justify spending billions of dollars in a war that no one wants while Americans starve and have no healthcare.

Question: I'm a waiter at a local restaurant in Queens, a full time college student who sleeps an average of four hours a night and is still thousands in debt. How is a war in a country half the world away funded by the taxes pulled from my check, helping me in any way?
