TRACES portal has been revamped, but every revamp should not come at the cost of mental harassment of taxpayers and professionals!! While registering TAN of a Company/LLP, the system is asking to link TAN with PAN through the TAN change Request form. While Incorporation, both PAN and TAN are allotted by the Dept. & mentioned on the same Certificate of Incorporation. No seperate linking was required earlier. Due to this technical issue on the revamped portal, TAN registration and account login are not possible from last 10 days. Request @IncomeTaxIndia to urgently resolve this issue. What was once extraordinary becomes arguable. What was once taboo becomes tactical. Yeats wrote of a widening gyre — a spiral in which order thins and the centre struggles to hold. We should resist the temptation to see this as distant turbulence. The spiral touches us too. For India, the implications are immediate. Energy (for India a good proportion) passes through Hormuz. Millions of Indians live and work in the Gulf. Connectivity initiatives such as Chabahar sit in an increasingly uncertain environment. Oil volatility quickly becomes domestic economic volatility. Strategic autonomy, in such moments, is not detachment. It is steadiness within the gyre. It is the ability to safeguard national interests while avoiding alignment with language or actions that deepen instability. India’s voice must favour restraint, sovereignty, maritime stability, and protection of civilians. The language we use matters. It shapes what becomes acceptable. History does not announce its turning points with fanfare. Often, the spiral simply widens — and we realise too late that the centre has shifted. The real question is not who fell. It is what just became permissible. The global centre does not collapse in a day. It erodes when violence is normalised and language sanitises it. We live in a hinge moment. The chapter on benign unipolarity is closed. We are climbing into rarefied geopolitical high altitude . The system is under strain . The Iranian people are fighting for their future. By ignoring their rightful demands, the regime shows its true colours. Images from Tehran reveal a disproportionate and heavy-handed response by the security forces. Any violence against peaceful demonstrators is unacceptable. Shutting down the internet while violently suppressing protests exposes a regime afraid of its own people.
