There are a lot of people who are feeling scared and helpless right now. I also don’t believe that there is anything radical about being empathetic. I’m not afraid of having conversations with others about difficult and sensitive subjects. But slinging words in an attempt to assisnate my character is not coming to the table in earnest. And on that note, I do not condone comments defending me that encourage harm. Those are not helpful and we can be better. Lastly, I am aware that my branding may mislead people to the ideals and community I represent. So here’s a reminder that myself and The Diner stand by “Vintage Style not Vintage Values.” Meaning, I can appreciate an aesthetic and not adopt the perspective on politics and social issues of that era. And I will never apologize for that.
