People Japa not only to earn money in dollars.
People Japa for the following reasons:
1) Good quality of life for them and their children.
2) Better security: you fit Dey earn in dollars make bandits kidnap you tomorrow in Nigeria
3) Better economic stability: X fit suspend your account anytime (not my wish for anyone). How many companies in Nigeria fit pay you the money? Social media money is not a reliable money. Japa money is not temporary money.
4) Better education system and environment.
More so, I know someone earning $12000 to $15000 on social media in the UK 🇬🇧 monthly, but because he doesn’t post his pay 💰 doesn’t meant you’re earning double of everyone’s income.
Selah!

If you want to know the true definition of a high-pressure environment, try cooking for my mother-in-law. She is a retired caterer and a woman who believes any food cooked without firewood is an insult to the ancestors.
She arrived from the village on Friday for a two-week visit. On Sunday morning, she sat on the parlor couch, and looked at me with laser-sharp eyes."Mimi," she said smoothly. "Don't stress yourself today. Just cook the normal Jollof rice you usually give my son. Let me see how he is surviving in Port Harcourt."
The passive-aggressive tension in the room instantly hit 100%.I entered the kitchen sweating. I measured the spices like a native doctor compounding a delicate portion. I tasted the soup ten times until my tongue turned numb. One wrong drop of salt and my marriage certificates would be revoked.
When the food was ready, I served her at the dining table. My husband sat beside her, looking at me with eyes that said, "May the Holy Spirit comfort your soul."She picked up the fork. The whole room went dead silent, I was sweating even when the AC was on, it was if Nobody was breathing.
She took one portion of the Jollof rice. She put it in her mouth. She chewed it slowly. Very slowly. For almost two minutes, she just stared at the wall, chewing.Suddenly, she closed her eyes, dropped her fork on the plate with a loud CLANG, and shook her head.
My heart dropped straight into my stomach. Cold sweat broke out on my neck. I was already preparing my defense speech in my mind. She looked up at me, her face completely serious, and said..."Mimi, come here."
I walked over to her trembling, my hands folded behind my back like a primary school student caught stealing chin-chin.She reached out, grabbed my hands, and I noticed her eyes were actually tearing up."Mimi," she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion. "Since my husband passed away ten years ago, I have never tasted Jollof rice that tasted exactly like the one we used to cook together for our traditional wedding. Where did you learn how this?"
The heavy sigh of relief that left my chest almost blew the roof off the building. My husband burst out laughing, "Mummy, you almost gave my wife a heart attack!"She hugged me tightly, pulling me into her chest, and said, "Thank you for taking such good care of my son’s stomach. You are a good woman."
I just stood there hugging her back, crying and laughing at the same time. Nigerian mothers-in-law will put you through a whole emotional thriller movie before they finally give you your flowers. I am blessed with a hand of a CHEF.

After my younger sister got married before me, she stopped calling me "Sister." She started calling me by my first name. At our first family meeting after her wedding, I drove my car. She drove her husband's.
After my elder brothers spoke, I was about to say something when my mother cut me off:
"Let the married woman speak first." She meant my younger sister.
I quietly stood up and walked to my car. My mother looked at me and added,
"You're not the only one with a car anymore. Swallow your pride and ask your sister how she got a man."
That was the last time I went to the family house.
Months later, I met my amazing husband. We got married. We both agreed not to have children immediately, I'm 27. He's 29. We just wanted to enjoy each other for a while. We were both okay with our decision and didn't owe anyone an explanation.
A year later we attended my younger sister's third child's birthday. She handed her baby to my husband. He smiled awkw@rdly—he loves kids, but he's scared of carrying them. They're too fragile and he fears he might drop them. He passed the child to me gently and quickly.
Next thing my sister made a comment along the lines of, "This one your husband is running away from my baby, why won't babies run away from your home."
She said it jokingly in our language, my husband didn't understand but he saw the look on my face and instead of my mother to reprimand or correct her, she laughed. I calmly returned her baby, turned to my husband, and said, "Let's go." He nodded. No questions asked.
Later, my mother called to say I was petty. That it was just a joke. My brothers called too-asking if I was jealous of my younger sister. But the one person who made the comment? She never called. Not even once.
Fast forward to today. She's pregnant again—baby number four. She and her husband want to travel for a vacation and rest before the baby comes. They need someone they trust to help watch the kids for a few days. Guess who she called?
I told her, "Oh, l'd love to help, but my husband and I are avoiding kids for now, we love our peace and quiet and you understand how important rest is for couples, right?" Now my mother and brothers are calling me w!ck£d and petty. Telling me I should apologize.
But NO!
Some lessons must be loud. And some boundaries are not revenge-they're recovery.
