Another critical issue is that Grok has quietly downgraded its image-to-video model since April 19th. Before April 19th, everything from photorealistic skin details to dance motions and prompt adherence was absolutely phenomenal. However, after April 19th, a heavy smoothing effect was suddenly introduced. It completely erases fine skin details, turning them into a waxy, plastic, and overly glossy texture. On top of that, an unnatural, bright lighting artifact has been added, making human skin tones look awkwardly jaundiced. The motion has also become incredibly stiff, often failing to move at all. The motion-per-frame has dramatically decreased since that date. I have saved all the videos generated prior to April 19th, and comparing them to the post-April 19th outputs is genuinely appalling. The video model has degraded to an indescribable degree. What infuriates me is that while Grok actively promotes and immediately fixes other business-related bugs on X (Twitter), it completely ignores this issue. As a heavy power user of Grok, I have been sending feedback, writing emails, and submitting reports for over a month now, demanding a rollback of this broken video model. Yet, it has been left completely neglected and broken for over a month.
