Google 跟電力公司說：我們吃電很兇，但最缺電的時候我們讓 AI 資料中心現在是全球最大的用電爭議之一，各地社區都在抗議新建資料中心搶走電力、推高電價。Google 剛做了一件事來回應這個問題，而且規模大到連馬斯克都在推文下留言說「幾乎沒有人理解其規模之大」。 Google 執行長 Sundar Pichai 3 月 19 日宣布，Google 跟美國五家電力公司簽了合約，承諾在電網吃緊的時候可以讓出 1 百萬瓩（1 GW）的用電量。白話來說，夏天傍晚大家開冷氣、太陽能又收工的時候，電力公司可以打電話給 Google 說「我們撐不住了」，Google 就會把資料中心裡比較不急的 AI 訓練任務暫停或轉移到其他地區，把電讓出來給社區用。 1 百萬瓩大約是一座核電廠的發電量，也差不多等於馬斯克的 xAI Colossus 2 整座訓練叢集的用電。Google 等於是跟電力公司和當地居民說：我們的資料中心吃電很兇沒錯，但在你們最需要的時候，我們可以讓出一整座核電廠的電力容量。 為什麼只有 Google 做得到？第一，Google 的資料中心遍布全球，一個地區降載的工作可以即時轉到其他地區繼續跑，其他公司的基礎設施沒有這個調度彈性。第二，Google 能區分哪些工作量是即時的（搜尋、YouTube）、哪些可以等（批次 AI 訓練），這種精細的工作量管理需要多年的工程累積。第三，規模本身就是門檻，你的用電量要大到對電網有意義，電力公司才會願意為你客製化合約條款。 這件事的戰略意義超出能源層面，AI 資料中心目前最大的擴張瓶頸是電力供應和社區許可，地方政府和居民擔心資料中心搶電推高電價，審批流程卡住了大量新建計畫。Google 用需量反應直接解決這個痛點，對電力公司來說 Google 從一個「需要更多電」的客戶變成了一個「能幫忙穩定電網」的夥伴，新資料中心的併網審批會快得多。 而且 1 百萬瓩可能只是起點，根據 CNBC 去年 11 月取得的內部簡報，Google AI 基礎設施主管 Amin Vahdat 在全員會議上告訴員工，Google 必須每六個月將 AI 服務容量翻倍，目標是在四到五年內實現 1,000 倍的成長。Pichai 本人也在場，會後 Vahdat 被升為 AI 基礎設施首席技術官，直接向 Pichai 報告，全公司只有 15 到 20 人有這個匯報層級。 背景數字看一下，美國資料中心目前的總用電量約 41 百萬瓩，比五年前增加了 150%。全球資料中心的年用電量已經相當於日本全國一整年的用電。Pichai 自己確認 Google 正在開發單座超過 1 百萬瓩的資料中心，兩年前他自己都沒想到會走到這個規模。 當一家公司的內部目標是四年做到 1,000 倍，而電網容量不可能同步擴張 1,000 倍，需量反應就從「好人好事」變成了「生存必需」。Google 把自己從「電網的負擔」重新定位成「電網的調節工具」，可能是 AI 基礎設施競賽裡最聰明的一步棋。 ⚡ --- 📱 Threads / Facebook / 電子報「狐說八道」 #Google #資料中心 #需量反應 #AI基礎設施 #電網 #能源

The Claude Code Discord/Telegram Channel feels like a toy. it's easy to connect. but that's about it. No streaming, no "hey I'm starting" heads-up. It just silently grinds away and replies all at once. It's not optimized for outside of the terminal. No slash command support either. That's table stakes. And only ONE session at a time?? I run 10+ concurrent sessions with OpenClaw in Discord threads regularly. Feels like a feature pushed out for the sake of announcement, not usability. Why would I use this over the app or remote control? Still love Claude Code itself. But chatting with it via Discord vs OpenClaw is night and day.

用了一下午的 Dispatch ，我覺得一般人用好 Claude Dispatch 就夠了，根本不需要用到龍蝦，徒增困擾跟花費 XDDD

Is there any way to directly use Nano Banana Pro in Gemini app instead of Nano Banana 2? It takes many rounds to generate a correct image, a huge waste of both tokens and users’ time. Bad user experience won’t help winning competition. I am so frustrated. @sundarpichai
