Martinez, although from spain, is a solid hard court player and showed decent levels during the autumn, got a few good wins beating both henry searle and aidan mchugh and played stebe close, expect him to take care of nagel who I think he is superior to level wise and could be vulnerable coming off a tough turnaround.

Super hot in Melbourne, around 40°C, which means fast conditions and lots of holds. Should be very helpful for a + game handicap. Valentin has a great serve and showed during his Shanghai run that he’s in shape to handle these sorts of conditions.
He’s coming off two very solid serving performances vs Damm and Hijikata, landing over 60% first serves in both matches and winning around 84% of first serve points. Gonna be hard for Shelton to find multiple breaks when he’s serving like that.
Shelton is definitely the better player, but six games is a bit too much here in these conditions. Market still underrating Vacherot.
