Auchinleck Talbot are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Eugene Crummie, a lifelong Talbot supporter.   A founding member of the original Building Committee, Eugene gave a lot of his spare time to a cause he was lovingly committed to. He was instrumental in bringing the Main Stand from Hamilton to Auchinleck. Initially he had only asked Hamilton if they would have any spare girders but Eugene's dogged determination brought this fantastic facility to Beechwood. That determination also saw his advice being used by the club to help secure the SFA Licence and bring floodlights to our ground.  He was a person who stood up for his values especially on the football terrace. Fellow supporters will all have their own stories and tales about the ex-miner who went on to be a college lecturer. It was his belief that if you work hard you can only better yourself,  a fervour he continued following  when upgrading  our ground. His support of Talbot never waivered. He followed the club through both thick and thin, never allowing Talbot to be undermined in any way. For Eugene, there was only one club and that was Auchinleck Talbot.  He will be sorely missed by all of the Auchinleck Talbot community. The club would like to extend their deepest condolences to his wife, Lib, daughters Michelle and Claire and all his family.  Eugene's funeral will be held on Friday 7th August at 2pm, Hurlet Crematorium, Barrhead followed by the funeral tea at Glynhill Hotel, Renfrew.  RIP Eugene. #eppp
