There's going to be so much content coming to my channels in the next few months. I'm so hyped.

Yeah so this is called "access journalism" and it's why many people have been tricked into buying terrible games from larger outlets that trade praise for access. If your game is good you give a key to haters and glazers alike. If you're picky, you have no confidence in it.
Obi Kiwami 極み@AvatarObi

Do y'all remember when Dragon Age didn't send review codes to people farming hate content around the game and they all put up videos crying about it because they felt entitled to a free copy of the game? More games should do that. Creators that rely on being hateful bottom feeders to stay relevant should be starved of content and left to wither away. We don't need this dishonest crap.

Now that the neutral game is actually important in Marvel Rivals, you can tell exactly in each and every lobby who is the boosted player and who isn't.

Reminder, scams like this try to scare you into giving over information that can hack your YouTube channel. This lazy scammer couldn't even be bothered to change the name of the channel to mine. Stay safe out there. Do NOT click any links especially if they claim it's "urgent".

@TerichoHorror @Pirat_Nation Yeah that’s the sad reality and I get it. You can pour your heart into something and it doesn’t land, while something smaller ends up doing better sometimes. It ends up feeling like a battle between making money vs something you enjoy. It just sucks that those rarely line up.

Peak co-creator is encouraging indie devs to break free from traditional polished development cycles. Instead, he says, prototype quickly and lean into the chaotic, social fun that these low-fi co-op titles deliver while the window is still open. "Make friendslop games before the fad dies."

@nickjcal Oh I bet this one was a nightmare in terms of getting reviews ready. I can't wait to get stuck in as just a player!

@TerichoHorror Yea I mean we’re all talking generally here. Nobody besides reviewers have played this game so anyone that hasn’t played it is in for a shock at just how much is in this game mechanics wise.

“Looks at the highest scored games on Metacritic” Yea, the people who write the reviews and guides for games nobody else has played yet, before balancing patches and day one patches based on feedback, are the definitely the ones that need hand-holding.
Luke Stephens@LukeStephens

@LegacyKillaHD I predicted after the preview that this is one that game journalists will loathe. There is zero hand holding and even at the preview event I witnessed several journalists from big outlets getting stuck in the tutorial puzzle for 45 plus minutes...

NEVER trust anyone that claims they are official if they use a free email provider. Never copy and paste a link if anyone asks you to. This is a way for them to hide malicious links in plain text. Never open a link unless you are absolutely sure it's from an official source.

@nickjcal As for getting stuck in games, people are still hung up on one particular journalist who couldn't get past a tutorial. But there's definitely a disconnect for someone who has to play a job for a living and someone who plays it for enjoyment. I know this as a content creator.

@nickjcal To be fair I don't think people are really talking about SecondWind. I've just recently found the Youtube channel and there's some good work on there. But it's hard to deny legacy games journalists are mostly lost to corporate whims. Lots of ideology-based reviews and such.

@steelkrill @Pirat_Nation As a YouTuber I sympathise greatly. There are videos I want to make, and then there are videos which mean I can pay my bills. These are very rarely the same video.

@steelkrill @Pirat_Nation To be fair, Aggro Crab DID make the game they wanted to. It's called "Another Crab's Treasure" and it was a complete narrative game with platforming and souls-like combat. One clearly took a lot more work to craft, and one clearly paid for a lot more bills.

@nimlot26 Ahh yes, increasing a spot light on his hair with no visible source light with additional artefacts around the edges. So cool.

After this whole debate about DLSS 5 I came to the conclusion that most of the people talking about it are completely unaware of what they don't know...they're on the peak of ignorance and don't even grasp how little they understand. They just heard generative AI and like Pavlov's dog they just start drooling thinking it's the same shit as unethical slop image generators...for the love of Christ...go and educate yourself before raging on the internet for no reason. DLLS 5 is not a prompt based generator...it's not creating stuff based on someone else's images and hallucinates results. It uses the information from the raster to build up a final render frame with the same information but with better lighting and shading... I'll even give you an example on how much of an impact better shading and lighting has. This is a character I've worked on not long ago. On the left you have a raster render, with some bad shaders. On the right you have a render with raytrace on, a much better shader for both hair and skin. They don't even look like the same person...do they? This is what DLSS5 is doing....getting a result like the one on the right(tbh a lot better) at a smaller cost than actually rendering it. Still the same geo, same textures, same light sources. Some of you will go and say the one on the left is better and it's the artist's vision. It's not...it's just the artist's limitation due to shading and lighting constrains. Every single artist out there would love to get the right result in real time.

All jokes aside, I think the DLSS 5 hysteria and concerns (valid/non-performative ones) will blow over once we see the tech being utilised by devs. The recency bias over "AI Slop" narratives are steering the discourse atm.

@_ShadowShifter_ Using a tiny % of silly reviews to disregard the thousands of genuine reviews is in itself a little silly.

@TerichoHorror Idk but I don't think I'd trust the store where people leave negative reviews to tell you to stop looking at negative reviews. Using those clowns as a measurement when you can play the game yourself is stupid.

Me: I don't like Little Nightmares 3, I don't think it's as good as 1/2. Internet: You're wrong! You're just a hater! Me: Poppy playtime Chapter 5 was a great chapter. Internet: You're wrong! You're just a glazer! It's hard being right sometimes.
