Talked about this with the students today and one kid said he thinks there's a dichotomy emerging between a "Sunbelt" BBQ and "Southern" BBQ that roughly maps onto the split between urban and rural Souths. I think that tracks in a real way.

@ChrisLoesch @cobracommandr15 it's seemed very ad hoc since the president's comments regarding protests in January. We've seen the military vaporize targets before where the lack of political will or planning prevented the follow-through for victory.

The majority of the political “right” in our nation are conscious, thinking people who weigh these situations carefully based on leadership, end goals and history. These are the conservatives who understand nuance.

People say American cities can’t build infrastructure but Atlanta has a fully automated subway with platform screen doors and 90 second headways that serves a quarter million trips a day. It’s just in their airport.

@booksandbbq He said after about 5 minutes of crawling around, he finds his pass, grabs, and a 300-something lb man falls on him, so he's stuck on the bottom of a scrum. But he got his pass. Anyhow, the police come and separate and arrest everyone except him because that pass is in his hand.

@booksandbbq Before he can even take a seat, or put his pass back in his wallet, the bleachers empty and both fan bases start fighting on the court. His pass gets knocked onto the court and he's crawling around looking for it. The only white dude in the place.
