Kentucky outwardly bragged about the spending its basketball program did last year. Pope even called it a ‘Ferrari’ UK now (while whiffing) wants to try to position Louisville into the same position as the Cats were in a year ago. Except Louisville isn’t so insecure that the Cards NEED the public to know the price tag. It’s just the cost of doing business, and it’s no one else’s business.

Wagering from all sources on the full Kentucky Oaks race day card @ChurchillDowns set a record of $89 million, up 18% from the prior mark of $75 million in 2024. All-sources wagering on the Kentucky Oaks race was an all-time high of over $29 million, up 29% from last year.

Malachi Moreno, Otega Oweh, and Jayden Quaintance have all three been invited to the 2026 NBA Draft Combine.

This is how you do it. You don’t let your contracts and media rights owner hold you back if you want to be THE brand… Now Duke Basketball will be showcased “globally” and be compensated for it. All they had to do was agree to play in additional ESPN owned events.

The media rights owner for Duke/ACC is ESPN. They have found a way to partner with Amazon’s Prime Video, allowing them to take over their media rights for 3 games. (Huge for Duke) Duke will return the favor to ESPN by playing in additional ESPN owned neutral site games.

Duke: A program that doesn’t let their media rights holder hold them back. … Find a way to make it work.
