This Lone Ranger Atomic Bomb ring was distributed by Kix cereal in the late 40's, for 15 cents and a mail-in box top. It was actually a spinthariscope containing radioactive Polonium-210 (one of the most toxic substances out there). A child would take the toy into a pitch-black room, remove the tail cap from the 'bomb', and look through a tiny lens to see flashes of light from the Polonium-210 atoms decaying into Lead-206.

@Freedomite @wintonARK I do agree that there should be some sort of acuity testing for all drivers. I've seen people in their 90's that were more capable than some people in their 20's. Testing all eliminates age discrimination, and, seriously, some people in their 20's shouldn't be driving either. 😳

It really is bizarre. Most of my friends don't have FSD (or a Tesla). And it is the single biggest lifestyle difference between us. They drive their cars. My car drives me. They don't get how much--even at its current capability-level--the product changes life-feel. FSD truly is a mass luxury product. That it is still so narrowly enjoyed is mind-bending.

Darwin's theory in action. I can understand driving like a wild man if you're capable of it. Check out the races at the Isle of Man. Those guys drive like they're insane - split second reflexes are the only reason ANY of them survive. He could have simply swerved left around the car and stayed WOT, but his mind wasn't in the ride. He was likely terrified that he was actually going that fast and just mentally locked up. Unfortunate, but do dumb things, win dumb prizes.
