@rtz549 @Polycam3D Thanks! It seems to progress a couple weeks per year. I’ve been feeling blocked at this step. We’ll see if switching from my usual CAD (cardboard aided design) to computer CAD helps. 👍🏼

"Where to cut?" I'd like to get the rear end on wheels. I haven't driven CAD in decades but with a mesh made with @Polycam3D on my iPhone and hours learning to simply move parts in Fusion produced decent images of where to cut.

Tesfalia front frames tack welded together. Manually aligned for the last time! Rear suspension and battery mounting next. Ride height leveling is easy thanks to @greggoberlin who provided the diamond polished floor in the Garage Mahal. So flat! Back to measuring.

@rtz549 @HarborFreight Correct! Just bought another brushless grinder and 5ah battery today during “ $99 Bauer Days.” Only $77 after returning the slow charger. Got my eye on the new dual charger, 4A per slot.

@FredBorloo That’s a few $k below my initial guess for the price. I believe the long range model uses two Model 3 packs. The conversion is Model 3 based.

@TesFalia Ok, that’s expensive of course. But i am pretty sure more EV campers will come out and at some stage economies of scale and cheaper battery and electronics will drive prices down. I am always sceptical untill I can see battery capacity. Could not find it anywhere on their site.

@rtz549 From what I’ve read I’m concerned about potential cracking of the EHSS, I just don’t know enough. Tomorrow I’ll do destructive tests of welding and annealing on scraps. I may be making a mountain out of a molehill, as I sometimes do. Need to establish comfort of technique.

@TesFalia Considering the tin the original van was made from; I wouldn't sweat it. Fit it up and weld it.

Has it really been 4 years? Today contemplating Ultra High Strength Steel and welding. So many uncertain judgments in a project this.
