In 2017 my grandma, a #Holocaust survivor, took us to the Holocaust Museum. "It makes me think about whether this could happen again. These days it seems possible," she said. She died during another time when #migrants are dehumanized. I wish she could have seen a brighter day.

In 2017 I interviewed Alejandro, a migrant who was told he should apply for asylum by a #BorderPatrol agent. He chose not to. Why? Because the risk of being #detained while soliciting #asylum were not worth it to him. Instead, he crossed illegally.
