We gathered in our thousands, standing shoulder to shoulder lining the streets of Edinburgh. Along The Royal Mile, people flocked to our Capital to honour our spectacular Queen. I stood hand in hand with my sisters, proud to have the opportunity to bow my head one last time ❤️

It’s been an odd few months for me. For the first time since Mr C died, I've had to stop. I hadn't appreciated how much I needed to do this. And now, as I head into my final week off work, I wanted to share why this has been so critical for me.

Earlier this year my husband died. My three kids lost their dad. We’ve been muddling through as best we can but we always knew that Christmas would be tough. I’ve just come across the letter to Santa that my eldest has written and honestly, I’m in pieces #GriefAtChristmas

It’s two years today since this one died. She had a long, active and happy life, and a mercifully quick and pain-free end, but on some days I’m still finding my grief to be almost overwhelming - and I have a sense of shame because of that
