I will never understand how such a great new gen player in Tests and ODIs can be so brilliant there, yet still struggle to crack T20s.

From 2023 World Cup, Rachin Ravindra is only batter with 5 or more hundreds in both Tests & ODIs. In Tests, nobody has scored more runs than his 1574 at better average than 56.2 in this period. And these aren’t soft hundreds either. Most have been proper daddy knocks: 240, 176, 165*, 134 & now 121. At the same time, he has piled up 1235 ODI runs at 47.5 average with strike rate touching 107. Very few batters right now are balancing Test match consistency & modern day scoring pace in ODIs this smoothly.

If taking 60 wickets in a Ranji season and over 100+ in 2 seasons doesn’t get you a place in India’s Test team, then there’s no purpose of playing domestic cricket. I don’t know how Auqib Nabi would convince himself to keep performing. Must be heartbreaking. #INDvsAFG

I know he is 36 and his last T20 was November 2022 and last ODI was January 2022 but..
He now has 23 wickets this IPL and is one of the few bowlers with an Economy under 7.5 rpo in one the most batting friendly seasons.
Is a return to national team still possible? Or has that ship sailed?
