No, you do not get paid for ad clicks! It’s time to put this myth to rest once and for all. Almost hourly, someone asks me “which do we get paid for: ad impressions or ad clicks?” They claim the ‘link clicks’ data in our analytics is actually ‘ad clicks,’ which itself is a dubious claim. The literature provided from 𝕏 has always said we get paid for verified user ad impressions in the replies to content we post. (That now also applies to ads on our profiles, as well. But we won’t get into that here.) Yet, for some reason, some users keep spreading the myth that users must “click ads” to earn ad revenue. So, you know me.. I did some research. ✅ Exhibit A The Premium subscription benefits clearly say: “Get a share of the revenue generated from verified accounts’ organic impressions of ads displayed in replies to content you post on X.” (See screenshot) ✅ Exhibit B I asked Premium. They said “To provide clarity, only organic impressions from verified users are the ones calculated for payouts.” (See screenshot) ✅ Exhibit C This one should put the nail into the link/ad click coffin. I ran the numbers on one of my monetized accounts and looked for a correlation. The results were damning: In one payout period, I got 118 ‘link clicks’ and a payout of $52.14. The VERY NEXT pay period, I got 1,100 ‘link clicks’ and earned $52.71. That’s an almost 10x increase in clicks, but virtually zero increase in payout. That, itself, proves there is no correlation. 🔥 Next time someone tells you users need to click your ads for you to earn, please tell them “Monetization Coach™ disproved that.
