@TSmith1867 What’s your trick to getting the cut size correct with the kerf? I’ve tried messing around a bit but seems it’s never where I want it to be when I need something that size matters

@landon707 I went in February, was a great trip. Funny in that whole article our shit $ was never mentioned as a reason why people don’t want to go.

@landon707 What I’ve found with a bit of research is growing corn out here nets about the same as other lower netting crops like wheat and barley. Plus with possible water restrictions in the largest district I don’t think you want to chance it growing corn.

@SpecialtySeeds @AllamFarmer If I was a AB farmer with a pivot....I'd grow a pile of grain corn. For what you guys pay for it in MB and ship it all the way to Southern AB...

@loganp333 I believe this is the updated one. It’s cast aluminum and balanced. If you check your steel one there’s a good chance that it’s way out of round. We find the plastic covers still wear out over time though.

Hopefully this will permanently fix the problem of these plastic covers wearing out! Not sure how I ever built things before the arc droid, sure saves a lot of time grinding. #shopprojects

@loganp333 If you are having issues with the blower fan, there is an aluminum impeller update that solves most the issues. That’s what takes out the belts I believe. I’ve found quite a few of ours are terrible out of balance. This one happened to be good so I left with steel impeller.

@Thacker1Dallas I'd buy one for our 8240 and I have a neighbor I bet would invest in one as well

@SilverStarAg I’m still getting the hang of it. I’ve built a pile of stuff with it already since getting it in January. Has saved me a lot of time, as well as not having to send things to town to get done with a cnc. I quite like it for the most part

@GribbleRC What drives it on the NH? I’d be very interested to know how fast that little impeller is going on the case!

@Thacker1Dallas NH has the same cover/fan etc. etc. & hardly have any trouble with cover wear, fan blades flying off, backing plates cracking etc etc. Must be something to do with speed they run on Case. 🤷‍♂️

@loganp333 Once we get a bit more free time In the shop I’ll get ahold of you. I likely have quite a few more to make for our own machines.

@KoubaRichard I haven’t yet, I’m thinking most of my combines will need them so I have to make quite a few more. After that we are going to look at building for orders. Few small things to tweak on the v2!

@millatime99 Last time I was at grand island they encouraged photos. Non union plant- plant workers treat the customer as their boss as they know that’s who’s buying their product. Was a great tour.

@AdamJPfeffer If you went very slow (like 1-2 mph) you might be fine without the cross augers in a heavy stand. You’re likely going to start, get so pissed off it’s bunching up, and go buy a pea auger haha.

@AdamJPfeffer A lot depends on conditions and crop. I did some short light stand canola years ago in Texas and it was fine without the cross auger. A normal thick stand though it won’t feed. It will bridge right across the drapers and you’re out pulling it off

Any canola growers out there with straight cut experience with a FD75? Is the auger necessary for the back of the belt?

@dustfrmer Makes much less of a mess, 2 bolts you loosen off and the lateral tilt hoses and it pops right off.

@dustfrmer We put a ratchet strap on each side, hooked onto a rotor lug, and back to the chopper bearing support. Then put a block of wood from the concave frame to the rotor and lift it to take pressure off the bearing.
