Construction at Thacker Pass is entering its peak activity between now and the end of 2026, marked by increased frequency of deliveries of large pieces of equipment. Between May and August, about 100 pipe rack modules will be transported from CarWil's manufacturing facility in Winnemucca to Thacker Pass, approximately 65 miles north. @nevadadot will post permitted shipment timeframes to NVRoads.com before each transportation date. @LithiumAmericas will also share shipment dates in our weekly community newsletter so northern Nevada residents can plan ahead. Bicarbonate reactors for the Lithium Carbonate Crystallization facility have arrived at @ThackerPass. These reactors are used to purify lithium carbonate, separating dissolved lithium from insoluble impurities, helping to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate. Concrete is being poured for the flooring of the Filter Building at @ThackerPass, which will house FLS Automatic Filter Presses to separate lithium-containing clay from slurry. This technology facilitates water recycling, while producing dry stacked filter cakes for the clay tailings facility. The Workforce Hub (WFH) is an all-inclusive, temporary housing facility located in Winnemucca for the @ThackerPass Workforce. It was built to minimize the impacts of the influx of workers on Winnemucca's housing market, services and infrastructure. The first aboveground pipe was installed at @ThackerPass. The carbon steel pipe was craned into the Filtration Building on top of a large air receiver. They discuss the American #lithium industry, #EV sales forecasts and the growing popularity of energy storage systems. On #ESS, Dr. LeBlanc said, "It has been a relatively small market over the years. In 2025, ESS was just over 20% of the market on a lithium consumption basis, but it is also a rapidly growing sector right now. Some of the forecasts in the ESS space are widely different from each other, just a year out, sometimes even multiples of each other, depending on who is doing the forecasting. So, I think that says there is a lot of interest."
