Thames Path National Trail

The Thames Path Relay started on 5 June: Gloucestershire to Greenwich in 24 days. 🚶362 people took part 🥾94 hours to walk 185.2 miles 🧑‍🤝‍🧑20 groups/organisations led walks 📌1,412 fingerposts passed 🌉216 bridges crossed (before London) 📌145,763 metres of mown trail; 40,000 metres mown by Thames Path volunteers 📌2,315 metres of newly-surfaced path completed in 2025/26. #thamespath30 #FingerpostFriday @fionacreynolds @David_Llew

These Black Poplar trees were planted in 1999 by the International Tree Foundation with support from English Partnerships regenerating the Greenwich Peninsula before/after the Millennium. Swan Upping arrives in Marlow this evening! Tue 14th 5.30pm - arrive Marlow lock Wed 15th 9.00am - leaves Marlow Bridge Note both times are very much approximate Photos from previous years, in case you aren't aware what is involved. Swan Upping is the annual census of the swan population on the River Thames, and is important in assessing the health of young cygnets and examining them for any injuries. The Swan Uppers travel in traditional rowing skiffs, in traditional outfits, and it is quite a sight to behold.
