I (that’s James) haven’t posted from this account for a while.
I expect to be deleting my personal account once I’ve done some housekeeping, and this one will go too.
I’m on Bluesky though no immediate plans to set up a separate archive account.

Got the order for the prints of the @HenleyRegatta winning crews in to @spectrumlab two weeks earlier than I managed last year.
All photos by @joannerharris this year.
Now, will I be able to get the prints mounted, framed and hung in time for @FoursHead?

Not many of these in circulation but finally got one on ebay.
Just 2000-2004 to track down and then the @ThamesRC library will have a full set.

Now I’m home with access to the results books, I also need to check whether TRC has ever reached 5 finals before. I don’t think so, but it’s possible there was a year when there were 5 finalists but only 1 or 2 won so it’s not well-remembered.

@rowinggeek @ThamesRC @HenleyRegatta A symptom of the wider drought that saw no men’s HRR wins between the Stewards’ in 1956 and the Wyfold in 2003.
One reason why TRC members of long standing raise an eyebrow at the idea that the club is now winning too much!

Thanks to the ever-reliable @david_biddulph who notes that LRC are actually on 15 too (oddly Wikipedia’s Thames Challenge Cup is missing 1977 in its results section).
So it’s all to play for!

I neglected to bring either Hear The Boat Sing or a set of Henley Record Books down with me (what an oversight!) but I *think* this is the first time ever in @ThamesRC’s history that the club has been in five Henley finals.
Four in 1927 and 1928 (all four won in both years).

Latest acquisitions for the @ThamesRC library.
Two are by former TRC rowers (Baz Moffat and Leon Fletcher).
One has a chapter on the 1928 Thames flood, about which I am curious.
And as the Hassall biography, we have three large drawings by him in the bar (with one more lost).

Essentially, I've realised that there is a hosted 'multi-repository' option for the system (accesstomemory.org) that I use for thamesrcarchive.co.uk.
There is a possibility for an affordable shared archives platform.

@ThamesRCArchive I am archiving on Facebook for Strode's College Boat Club, which will celebrate in 2024 the centenary of its creation. I am also the Director Of Rowing at The Langley Academy, which specialises in museum learning. It has a library of second hand rowing books and magazines.

I think that 1874 was the first time that the idea of a clubhouse for @ThamesRC was broached at an AGM. This report was in the Sporting Gazette.
I love that dogs seemingly rank higher than the committee when planning the accommodation.
