@PendragonOrg I'd love to see the gatehouse restored - I remember it being mooted about 15 or so years ago, I recall a tender was put out by Cadw for the work. Nothing came of it, I guess they ran out of money!

Here's the excellent Fairleigh Hungerford Castle, begun in the 1370s. Extended in the 15th century. Ruins of the quadrangular castle remain along with a chapel, with impressive monuments, wall paintings and lead coffins in the crypt, some with death masks.

@ProvdSaxon I should have said widely considered to be - I would think Scolland's Hall in Richmond Castle is also part of that mix!
