The internet constantly tells women that men are terrible listeners because the second a woman starts venting about her day, the man immediately interrupts to offer a logical solution. We are taught to view this as him being dismissive, emotionally unintelligent, or invalidating our feelings. ​The strict, unpopular truth is that to a man, fixing the problem is his absolute highest, most desperate form of empathy. ​Women vent to connect; we want our partner to just sit in the dark with us and validate the emotion. But men are hardwired to view the woman they love being in distress as an active threat. When he immediately offers a spreadsheet, a strategy, or a solution to your problem, he isn't trying to silence you. His brain has recognized that something in the world is hurting his partner, and his immediate, visceral instinct is to assassinate the thing causing you pain. We constantly shame men for "not just listening," completely ignoring the fact that his attempt to fix your life is his most profound declaration of love.

Today marks RVB's anniversary. Rooster Teeth was a huge portion of my life, and this account. If we met through RT, AH, etc, even if we haven't spoken in years, I still think about you all, and value my time and memories there and with you all dearly.

This is why Discord is doing Age Verification, because of laws like this all over the world and the US that they have to follow whether they like it or not. It's not to steal your data, because pretty soon almost every other app will need to do it too

Y'all are blaming discord for this as if they made the policy internally. All major countries/regions discord operates in have some kind of law requiring ID, not just the US. Companies do not get to pick and choose what regulations they follow. No company/platform is immune

@spinelessaisha This is because of certain states and countries like the UK and Asian countries. There soon will be no alternative that will exist outside of these restrictions, and it is not up to discord to choose to follow them or not. Every major country discord operates in enforces this

Hey @discord_support I've had a weird set of support "requests" come from my account I did not send and my account was not directly compromised. I reached out about this and have received no information for over a day, including about a "law enforcement investigation"

@discord_support I have already updated all methods of MFA and login credentials, and have reached out via the support site, discord itself, and emails, and it has been radio silence. I have already DM'd your account too and received nothing
