As the year comes to a close and we head into the new year, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you — and to reflect on just how far we’ve come together.
In January, we officially filed State Question 836, launching an effort to give every Oklahoma voter a meaningful voice in the elections that matter most. Since then, supporters like you have helped turn an idea into a true statewide movement.
Over the past year, we’ve held town halls and community conversations across Oklahoma — from Tulsa and Oklahoma City to Bartlesville, Norman, Stillwater, Enid, Shawnee, and communities across the state. We’ve listened, answered questions, and built a broad, bipartisan coalition of Oklahomans who agree that our current system isn’t working — and that voters deserve better.
This fall, we launched our signature collection drive — and now we’re entering the home stretch. Signature gathering ends January 26, and every day between now and then matters.
None of this happens without you. Your time, your encouragement, your willingness to show up and speak out — that’s what has carried this effort forward.
If you’re able to help one more time, here are three powerful ways to make a difference right now:
• Donate at voteyes836.com/donate to help fund signature gathering during these final critical weeks
• Volunteer as a signature gatherer or help host a signing opportunity in your community at voteyes836.com/signature-gath…
• Make sure you’ve signed the petition — and encourage friends and family to do the same.
Together, we’ve made incredible progress. With your help, we can finish strong and give Oklahomans the chance to vote on a fairer, more open election system.

When Utah State Sen. Dan Thatcher switched parties — then announced his resignation — most expected the usual backroom replacement.
That’s not what happened.

@Nelstar15 I generally go to my favorite spots when I go out to eat, which is not often, but when I do I tend to give a $10 tip regardless of the bill.
I know I will never rack up a bill by myself where $10 falls below 20%. 🤣

Looking back at one of 2025's most-watched moments: @NickTroiano breaking down the primary problem on @MSNOWNews' @Morning_Joe.
The facts remain stark: In 16 states, independent voters are locked out from voting in primary elections. Who are those independent voters? Nearly half of veterans are independents and so are a majority of young people.
Our democracy should honor those who defended it and welcome those who will shape its future—not shut them out of the process.
#Openprimaries can change this. Every voter deserves the right to vote in every election.
