I deeply resonate with and respect Richard's work. Many males have thought about taking their own lives, and the rates are disproportionately high, especially in younger men. My long-time readers know why this is of importance to me.
Like Richard said, it is not a zero-sum game. We do not have to uplift one gender by decimating the other - however, to do so requires compassion and the willingness to learn. We are fundamentally different because we are complementary, in the best of ways.
Mainstream society tends to reduce constructs into their most reductive binary forms because doing so incites attention and controversy, perfect for performative clout-chasers with TikTok brain. It reduces souls into shallow archetypes - which is incredibly insulting and spiritually decaying. Often those doing phenomenal work in this area have integrity, humility, and possess immense empathy - thus, their energy is much more understated and peaceful.
Men need purpose. They can be so remarkably generous, kind, and loving, but their devotion is much less loud and not packaged in the way that mainstream culture likes to sell imagery and expectations to us. It is no easy feat for younger men who have such desires to rise when they are repeatedly beaten down with little to no support during their formative years. For those of us on a more integrative spiritual path know intimately that finding your purpose is a feat in itself, even without the undercurrent of crescendoing social pressures piled on.
Furthermore, the unspoken difficulty is that many men desire autonomy, it is within their nature. They lean towards critical thinking and will naturally question authority if they possess healthy levels of testosterone. For men, wisdom is essential, but it is gained through surviving tough shit - thus, males need to discover their purpose for themselves to claim ownership with full conviction. Guidance from resonant male mentors who have made it through the mud is helpful, but it remains a personal crucible. It is not something that can be spoon-fed, only supported and shaped over time.
For the men who are in a dark place right now - you are not a burden. You are on your way to discovering your path to ascension and to living your purpose. And it will be holy. I am grateful that you exist.
