So my real point and my thinking is; why is nobody cloning this and why is the price dropping further? If there isn’t competition driving down the price why put it on sale?
It’s the lowest cost, best entry level printer I know of. And it s dropped from $299 to $199 and held. It’s just very interesting.

When the Ender 3 was released it was quickly cloned. When X1C was released, copy’s followed. But since the A1 mini release I’m not seeing any new mini printers being developed. In fact the Ender 2 Pro was cancelled. Is there just not enough margin at $199 ($179 on sale)?

I’d be surprised if they are actually using FDM.
Also recycling is going to be a pain. Shoes will have small fragments of dirt and rocks in them. They may want to use a larger nozzle diameter.

@3D_Musketeers @K2_Kevin If you're talking about Cloud patent issued by Stratasys (granted January 2024), this one is the easiest to refute. Ultimaker already had the same solutions in 2016.
RFID as well - Ultimaker & XYZPrinting have been using it since 2016 while MakerBot filed patent for it in 2018

Did you forget the RFID and Cloud ones? The others I hope to see get challenged in the PTAB, but I think the RFID and the Cloud ones will be hard to shake.
