Monday Portfolio Update 🔥🔥 Last week I was assigned 200 shares of $HOOD at $94, which I was not happy about. 😡 Pretty unusual to be assigned shares on a Wednesday, but I suppose extrinsic value had run pretty low, so anything can happen. $HOOD is now 11% of the portfolio, so I'll be selling aggressive covered calls on those 200 shares in hopes of having them called away. I also added $SOFI back to the portfolio, in the $17s, which I'm ecstatic about. Stocks on my radar this week for trades or additions to the portfolio include $DUOL, $ASTS, $ENPH, $META, $CRM, $JD, $OSCR, and $NVO. Here's to another week in the stock market!!

I am transparent about my wins and losses… Which is why I wanted to share this covered call I rolled so you understand the risks that come with selling options. Additionally, I hope this helps you learn how to think about rolling specific positions and the benefits of this strategy. $NBIS ripped past my $130 strike (sitting around $140+). So I made a move: ➡️ Bought back my $130 calls (5/1) ➡️ Sold $200 calls (12/18) ⸻ 📊 The numbers: • Realized loss: -$13,587 • Premium collected on new calls: $2,323 • Contracts: 7 (700 shares) ⸻ 🧠 What this ACTUALLY means: Yes, I took a loss on paper… But this is NOT a directional loss. This is the cost of: 👉 Keeping my shares 👉 Reopening upside ⸻ Before the roll: • My shares were getting called away at $130 • Stock is already at $140+ • I was about to lose all future upside ⸻ After the roll: • New strike: $200 • Expiration: Dec 18 • I now have $60+ upside per share That’s: 👉 $42,000+ more upside unlocked (700 shares) ⸻ 💡 Why I did this: I’m still bullish on $NBIS Didn’t want to: ❌ Cap my gains at $130 ❌ Lose my core position So I: ✅ Paid to reposition ✅ Gave myself room to run ✅ Still collected premium ⸻ ⚠️ Important lesson: Rolling a covered call for a loss is NORMAL You’re not “losing money” You’re: 👉 Adjusting your position 👉 Paying for more upside 👉 Staying in the trade ⸻ 📈 New setup: •Max sell price: $200 •Time: 8+ months •Premium collected: $2.3K ⸻ Moral of the story: Covered calls are not “set and forget” You have to actively manage them when the stock moves IF you want to keep your shares. This looks like a big loss, but in my eyes it’s not. Reduces my tax burden and assures that my shares don’t get called away at $130. Hope this helps my friends!

@MJA873 That’s great feedback my friend. I bought the 1/21/28 $120 calls so sounds like I was right in your wheelhouse with that criteria.

@The4FsMission I usually buy OTM call LEAPS. Often buy 3 and sell 2 shorter dated calls at same strike or higher when the stock if overbought. 420+ DTE or above is best. My research shows positive expectation to sell premium <420 DTE, positive expectation to buy premium >=420 + DTE (not puts).

One day, you’ll look back and ask yourself why you didn’t buy $NOW under $100.

Sorry $PLTR bulls, but at an insane P/E of 220x, this stock still needs a proper valuation reset 🧐 A move down to around $60–70 would be a much healthier spot for a reversal into a new bull cycle...

$NOW Claude fear is wrecking software stocks again… but what people don’t realize is ServiceNow actually partners with Claude to integrate AI into its platform. At these levels, $NOW, easily the highest quality software stock, looks like a no-brainer to me. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, AI will enhance software, not kill it. Added more LEAP call contracts (see screenshot for the trade in the comments), holding mid to long term🔥

@BlueslideMark It’s so difficult with stocks over that $200 range. They should have a rule where every time a stock hits $100 it has to do a stock split to help out the options traders 😂

I want to say I wish I sold more $AMZN short puts because of the relative strength it was showing. But a huge component of my risk management is position sizing, so I don’t feel too much regret 🙃
