Healthcare for Neurodivergent people must improve. As GPs, some of whom also work in both NHS and private Neurodevelopmental clinics, we understand these issues from both sides, and envisage ourselves playing a key part of improving patient services.

Well done to all the ND advocates who went to Parliament yesterday to help push forward the 'Neurodiversity Screening and Teacher Training Bill'. The news has not been full of positivity for the #Neurodiversity #Disability communities recently so this is a much needed win.

@MattHancock Please use this as an opportunity to also educate about ADHD. 50% of people with Dyslexia have ADHD and this should form part of any new school screening initiative.

Today I’m calling for universal dyslexia screening in every primary school and improved teacher training for dyslexia It is an outrage that only 1 in 5 dyslexic children leave school identified & that teachers do not need training to support dyslexic children This must change

@MattHancock @BabatundeComedy @seannwalsh @imacelebrity 50% of dyslexic people also have ADHD and vice versa. We should be screening for both at presentation. We must jointly tackle the stigma around ADHD and ensure schools, higher education settings and employers have adequate training and awareness of both.

80% of dyslexic children, like Matt, leave school unidentified & think they are just not good at reading Matt’s Dyslexia Screening and Teacher Training Bill (on the 2nd December) will help every dyslexic child understand their neurodiversity and make the most of their talents

T has left us. @GlovRebecca and I worry where he is now and wish we were there to look after him. Hopefully we will meet him again and he will have fulfilled the dreams he made for himself in this world.
